This is a little tour of where we live.
These are the houses. There are 1, 2 and 3 bedroom houses, each with varying degrees of space etc. They are also in varying conditions, but as we are learning, if you hassle the right people for long enough, hopefully the maintenance will eventually get done. Battles must be chosen in priority order though.
There is a very short walk to the hospital (seen below). It is so nice to be able to leave home 2 minutes before you need to be at work, come home at lunch time and be home within 2 minutes of leaving the office. There are 8 wards (only 7 run), as well as rehab, maternity, nursery, outpatients department and casualty.
There is a tennis court, but it is a little run down. It gets used more for people jogging laps inside it or the kids using the net as a swing. Maybe when it cools down, i mean is less hot, in winter we’ll brave a game or two.
There is also a creche onsite.
At the moment the pool is more of a mosquito breeding ground I think, but a new “Kreepy” and chemicals have been delivered. Now it just needs to be drained and cleaned. It will be soo good to have a pool!We are also looking forward to some braais when it is not mosquito season.
I know that I’ve posted this picture already, but I think it’s pretty and it shows the grounds, so I’m posting it again 🙂
I hope that you enjoyed your short tour of hospital grounds. Click here to see a post on a bit about the surrounding area.
