We’ve all had that time where you’ve got a beautiful cake (maybe one you’ve slaved over for hours), you expect it to look amazing on the table with the rest of the snacks at your party, but then it just looks, well, meh! It somehow gets lost amongst the rest of the food. Or is that just me? Putting a cake on a cake stand, is the simplest way to get your cake to stand out (quite literally!). And a DIY cake stand? That’s even better, in my opinion! And so, with that, my cake stand obsession continues…
This DIY cake stand really only needs about 10 minutes of your time, plus a little time for the paint to dry in between. Win!
What You Need:
Plate of your choice, preferably with a flat bottom
Pine bun foot
Strong adhesive
Masking tape
Chalk paint
Sponge or paint brush
What To Do:
There are just two (and a half) simple steps for this DIY. Start off by wrapping your masking tape around the bun foot. Paint below the masking tape and allow to dry. Once dry, simply glue the bun foot onto the centre of the underside of the plate.
You could paint the bun foot as elaborately or as simple as you’d like, or even just leave it as plain wood. There are so many options if you just get a little bit creative. Since it’s such a simple DIY, you could even customise the cake stand for each party.
Serve your cake and enjoy 🙂
