Yesterday my wonderful mother had a special birthday and as usual finding the right gift to buy was not very easy. This is usually a great inspiration for me to make something, so that’s what I did 🙂 We added in a few little bits and pieces, but the main gift was handmade. To make it even easier for you, I’m giving you a free silhouette cut file to download.
I’m becoming so aware that I don’t have nearly enough decent photos of my family, but this is a favourite one of my mom. We had gone to an open garden at Ina Paarman‘s house, where she decided to sit on a hammock. Needless to say that didn’t really work out and I was just in time to snap a photo. I am so grateful for a mother who has loved all of us (I am the youngest of four), prayed for us and helped grow us into who we are today.
It is probably becoming obvious, but I’ve been loving using my Silhouette Cameo for all sorts of DIY and am so glad that we bought it. For this one I used Sweet Pea font (which is free for personal use) to make a cut out of Psalm 128:1 . “Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.” The trickiest part is lifting the card off the cutting mat without breaking it, but apart from that all you need to do is pop it in a nice frame.
For free personal use please like Pure Sweet Joy on Facebook:
and then download your files:
This file was made for the cut area to fit in a 20 x 25 cm area in the frame, but you can adjust the size of the cut in Silhouette Studio to fit what you need.
I’d love to see what you get up to using the free downloads, so tag me on Instagram @puresweetjoy or use #puresweetjoyblog.
If you would like me to make one of these for you, then please email me. I’ll be adding it to my Etsy store soon too.
Hopefully I can get some leftover birthday cake today 🙂
Xx
