Looking for a fun way to package a Valentine’s or Galentine’s gift? These mini heart pinata DIYs are so much fun. You could keep it simple with one colour, or go a little rainbow crazy. There are really so many possibilities.
What you need:
Card or recycled boxes
Tissue paper
Heart template
Ribbon, if you’d like it to hang
Tape, glue, scissors
Your choice of fillings
What to do:
For each pinata, you’ll need two hearts cut from your card and strips of card the thickness that you want your pinata to be. Each strip is long enough to go around half of the heart, with a small overlap at the end.
Starting at one edge, tape the strip of card to the edge of the heart, slowly working your way around. Fill with your selection of goodies. Tape a small piece of ribbon to the top heart and then tape the this heart onto the base, using small pieces of tape all the way around.
If you’d prefer to fill at the end, you can leave a small section of the strip untaped, tape the top heart on, fill and then tape the strip closed.
Cut long strips of tissue paper. Taking a few strips at a time, cut your fringe, leaving one edge of the strip uncut. Starting at the bottom of the heart, use glue to attach the uncut edge to the heart. Move up the heart until the whole side is fill.
Trim off the extra fringe along the edges and then glue fringe to the sides of the heart.
How cool is that as a special gift? How do you plan to fill your mini heart pinata?
