Yesterday we celebrated my sister-in-law’s baby shower and so it was the perfect time to get crafting. I love a good cake topper! It’s such an easy way to turn a very simple cake into a perfectly themed cake. We went with a neutral, brown toned boho baby shower with paper palm leaves, pretty baskets and bunny tails. The wind made things a little challenging, but adding enough stones to the vases (almost) prevented the vases falling over. All in all it was a special day celebrating the new little boy on his way and his mama.

What you need
Medium weight cardstock
Kebab stick
Glue stick or spray adhesive
Glue gun
Hello Baby design – download here (free for personal use only)
Cricut Smart Cutting Machine – Joy, Explore or Maker series would all do the trick. You could cut the design out by hand using a swivel craft knife too, but the precision, ease and time saver of the Cricut cut is massive! I honestly love that I can set it all up, even on my phone, tell it to cut and walk away. Come back a few minutes later and it’s perfectly cut.
What to do
Download the Hello Baby design from the list above and unzip it.
Upload it into Design Space, resize it to the size you want and cut it out twice.
Glue the two pieces of cardstock together with the glue stick and then glue the kebab stick to the back with a glue gun.
For the paper fans, I used this tutorial from Miss MV and made three mini versions for the cake too.
