Makes 12 large cinnamon buns
Ingredients
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
3/4 tsp salt
3 1/2 tsp flour
2 1/4 tsp yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tblsp light margarine
1 tblsp cinnamon
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts (optional, but good)
1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional, but good)
icing sugar
warm water
Instrucions
Warm milk, water and butter and then add all ingredients to a bread machine (milk mixture, then flour, salt, sugar, yeast and egg). Use dough setting to mix.
Roll out dough into a triangle and spread with light margarine. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over margarine. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips.
Roll from long edge to long edge (so that you get a long roll) and then slice into 12 buns. Place tray on lightly greased baking tray with slight gaps between buns. Gently glaze the buns with a little milk.
Place in a warm place and allow to double in volume (+- 30 minutes). Once double in size, bake at 190C for 20-25 minutes.
Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before icing with a mixture of icing sugar and a LITTLE warm water, to make a glace. I had about 1 tsp of cream cheese left in the fridge so I added that to the icing, to add a little more flavour.
Enjoy 🙂
