It’s just too days to go until Christmas! Are you still looking for a simple little something to add to your holiday table? These little Rice Krispie Treats made into Christmas Trees are a cute little DIY addition. They could even be left plain and used as a fun decorating activity to keep the children entertained.
What you need:
4 cups mini marshmallows (or 4 cups of normal sized marshmallows squashed into the measuring cup)
5 cups rice krispies
What to do:
Start by melting the butter over low heat in a pot.
Add the marshmallows and stir gently until melted.
Fold in the rice krispies.
Flatten out treats in a dish, lined with wax paper/baking paper. Using a little cooking spray on the back of a metal spoon helps to smooth them out without them sticking to the spoon.
Allow to set in the fridge for about an hour and then cut into triangle shapes.
Stick a lollipop stick into the base of each tree.
To decorate mix icing sugar with a little boiled water until it is a nice piping consistency. Pipe whatever Christmas patterns you’d like and decorate with sprinkles.
And most importantly, EAT your Christmas rice krispie treats! 🙂
